Re4mado Photography is a local Chicago business of over 9 years that is run by owner and artist Rossana Reformado. She is a well known, loved, and successful artist in the community who uses her skill at photography to capture iconic imagery and turn it into functional art, gifts and souvenir items.
A competent business woman, she is not scared of her computer by any means. She has become all the things it has taken to be successful at her trade, and this includes managing her branding and marketing. Her very first website for her company was built 7 years ago…. in website years that is probably triple what it is in dog years! She and her very supportive family became very competent at updating basic HTML (which is more than most self taught business folks have time and the will power to do). However, as her business is booming, it became painfully obvious that this was simply not enough. The website was stagnant and not growing with her company.
Renegade Websites redesigned her website with all of the content from her old site, arranged in the WordPress content management platform. With one in-person tutorial session, she has been updating and adding her ever-growing collection of product on her own time and at her own pace!
One very important question came up when planing the redesign for Rossana: Shopping cart or no shopping cart? She has a constant flow of inventory shipping to shops all over the Midwest, trips to restock local stores and galleries, and two Etsy shops to keep up with. She just wasn’t sure that she wanted to actively sell on her own website as well… it just seemed like more time in front of the computer to take away from actually making product. To harness work that she already had in motion, instead of adding a shopping cart to her website, we embedded her two Etsy stores into her website. This way her customers can easily still purchase online, be she only needs to load & list product in one place.
