Before we get to work on your website there’s a little work to be done. Don’t worry, it’s not complicated. We know that you’re paying us for our time and expertise using the money you earned with your time and expertise. But to help us help you there are two important steps to take that will help get your website up and running sooner.
Step 1. Figure Out Your Focus
In our initial interview it’s not uncommon for us to ask you what your focus is. Are you a company looking to feature a single product or a whole range of products and services? What are those? Are you an actor looking for a place to organize reviews, clippings, and photographs from your shows? Do you write as well? Do you instruct? Are you looking for a place to organize your memoirs or hobbies? How would you like all that organized? Chapter by chapter? By interest?
Working out all the things you want your website to focus on and how you would like that information organized will help us figure out a theme and design that will best suit you and tailor a contract around your expectations.
Step 2. Collect your content
Once you’ve figured out your focus you should start collecting your content. Here’s a list of some ideas to get you started.
- Photographs of your products, people, places, or art.
- Video or audio interviews you may want to feature.
- Demo reels of auditions or pitches.
- Personal bios.*
- Product descriptions.*
- Mission statements.*
- Reviews of your products, shows, or artwork.
- Resumes.
- Any logos or icons you would like integrated in to your brand*
Important note: if you are uncomfortable writing your own copy and content we have writers available at Renegade Websites to take care of that for you. Anything marked with an asterisk (*) could be discussed with one of our content authors and, for an additional fee, could be developed by them as part of the design of your site.
That’s super easy right? Just two steps. Work out your focus, deliver your content, and in no time at all you’ll have a beautiful, modern website under your control.
